Orientation to ECN
Welcome to ECN (Electronic Course Network)
ECN (Electronic Course Network) is Walsh University's learning management system. It is a teaching, learning, and academic collaboration platform designed to best meets the needs of today's learners, instructors, and researchers. ECN has many features — content delivery tools, discussion boards, announcements, chat rooms, grade book, a wiki, and even resource areas for sharing files.
All students, faculty, and staff at Walsh have access to ECN using their Walsh ID. All courses students are registered for appear in ECN under the My Courses button. Published course sites appear in BLACK text and the link to them is active (it can be selected). Unpublished course sites appear in GRAY and the link to them is inactive (cannot be selected). Not all instructors use ECN for their courses. Contact your instructor if you have questions about whether or not your course utilizes ECN.
You do not need to know anything about web design to use ECN - just basic web navigation. ECN can be accessed from any web browser 24/7. Additionally, instructors and students can create non-course-related ECN projects for group and research collaboration.
To be sure that your computer ready to use ECN and you have the appropriate software installed, review the ECN TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS.
Support and orientation materials for ECN are available from the Start Here! on the left hand navigation bar. Watching the ECN Overview Video is recommended before reviewing the tutorial pages. In addition, the ECN QuickLearn Tutorial is available for review.
